Instead of sending all the material necessary for visa application
directly to the university that you wish to apply to (which
can lead to misunderstandings and delays), the participant
sends all material via e-mail to H.Y.C.C. Upon receipt of
the programme fee, H.Y.C.C. contacts the university directly
and ensures there will be no problems with the application.
At this stage H.Y.C.C. requests the programme fee from the
applicant.
H.Y.C.C. then manages the application process on
behalf of the applicant and send the documents necessary for
visa application to the participant via registered mail. Issues
like reservations of a single dormitory room and organization
of temporary accommodation prior to course commencement can
be arranged in advance. H.Y.C.C. will also provide the applicant
with extensive information (in English) about the university
and city (addresses for best hospitals, dentists, banks etc.).

Upon arrival
at Beijing International Airport, a member of the ARAQ
network will meet the participant and arrange transit
to the destination city via rail network (soft sleeper).
At the airport the participant will be provided with
a mobile phone containing 100 renminbi of credit (deposit
required - returned at completion of the programme in
exchange for the mobile phone). |
The phone will contain a 24-hour contact
number for H.Y.C.C., meaning the participant will have the
ability to call H.Y.C.C. for support at any time
during their study period.
Another ARAQ network member will arrange
transport from the railway station to the university. The
participant will then be introduced to two Chinese "Mentors"
and given a tour of the campus and the city. These "Mentors"
are also just a phone call away and will assist the participant
with everyday problems such as arranging an internet connection,
setting up a bank account etc.
Every month there will also be a complimentary
ARAQ network dinner, at which programme managers, mentors
and participants can exchange information in a relaxed, informal
setting. An international telephone card, extensive information
packages about life in China, maps, ARAQ Network T-Shirts
etc. are also all included in the cost of the ARAQ Comprehensive
Programme.
Comprehensive Programme Cost:
US$750.00 for a short-term programme (up to 6 weeks)
US$950.00 for a one semester programme (approx 18
weeks)
US$1350.00 for a two semester programme (approx
36 weeks)
US$300.00 for each additional semester
Note: Cost of tuition, accommodation
etc is paid separately to the university upon arrival. For
details about course costs at various universities please
take a look at the University
Courses, Timetables & Costs Database.
Participants are responsible for the costs of all services
arranged through the ARAQ Network that are not explicitly
stated as included in the cost of the programme, for instance
medical costs, internet installation etc. H.Y.C.C. will not
add any charge or commission onto any of the services it arranges
for its participants.
